A person who is not satisfied with something he already has will never be able to be satisfied no matter how much he gets, therefore, in this article that I’m creating, I prepared 12 easy ways on how to be happy with what you have.
To start it up I would like to use a verse of the bible so that we can be guided accordingly while reading the full content of this post.
Hebrew 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
1) Be happy with what you’ve got.
We are being guaranteed by God that as long as we know how to be contented with what we already have, if we know how to make ourselves free from the love of money, he left us a promise that he will never leave us nor forsake us.
We need to remember that the God who promised to us is the God who can’t lie, so whatever he promises there is an assurance that he will keep it.
Being healthy and strong is already a big blessing we received from God, so we must be thankful for it, that there is God who is not getting tired of loving and forgiving us all for our trespasses.
To be happy with what you’ve got, is one of the difficult task to do specially when the word “more and better” are the mostly emphasized words.
In our daily lives we are encountering a lot of pressures just to have the satisfying things in life, which appears to be in order. However, there are truly a lot of things to be grateful for in our day- to -day life.
To be satisfied with what you have, work on an improving positive attitude, interacting with others, and being simple and contented.
2) Open your mind for any changes.
The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.
If you can change at least one of your viewpoints or behaviors every few months are more likely to look to the future with
hope and positivity. If you are the kind of individual who also generally claim to be in a better mood most of the time.
Always implant in your mind that growth will not be possible without the change, and try to face the changes with open arms so that you can feel more satisfied overall.
If you have such behavior of being disrespectful or being uncourteous, you can gradually correct this one by doing your best for changing and overcoming this behavior.
One decision is enough to change your whole life or your destiny forever, so next time when you decide, think for the best.
3) Always consider the positive side of the situations.
To focus on the positive side of life, you need to do your best in looking at the negative situations with the positive lights and views. Our thoughts can be changed by in just an overtime processes.
Thus, such thinking may help you to feel more satisfaction in life, because you’re putting a positive thinking on the people, situations, and everything regarding life.
There are times in our lives that we will encounter situations like having a business or jobs that wasn’t a success, by
experiencing like this it will help you to strengthen yourself in facing the different kinds of obstacles and challenges of our daily walks of life, and by your optimistic thinking your true passion of life can be obtained.
4) To have everything is not an assurance for a complete happiness.
Get some ideas from those wealthy and successful people, because from them you will learn some techniques of how they get there, and at the same time you also need to consider the valuable experience you may learn from those who are not fortunate and failure.
There are many people who are happy with less than we have, so happiness is not only by what we have in life but also in appreciating in what we already have.
There are however, people who have more than what you have but still dissatisfied. Some people don’t have contentment in life, but if we only know how to make yourself happy, you can definitely make it,
by not comparing yourself to others specially to those who are already successful.
5) Be friendly and treasure any friendships.
To have friends who are optimistic is contagious, so it is important that you know who to choose to become friends because from them you will learn things in life, if they are pessimistic you will become like them for being together with them, so friends are the big factors in achieving things.
Friends are good but it takes time to invest in friendship, so it is much better to make friends before you need them.
Although friends may come and go while enemies accumulate. To have a friend, be a friend, because if you look for friends they are too scarce to find but with your friendliness you will find them everywhere.
Friends can help you in many ways, there are friends who are much closer with your relatives, as a friend nearby is much better that a relative who is far away.
When you invest in friendship you should be willing to give your best, you should be honest with them, you should be helpful when they need you, and when the times will come that you need them,
you don’t need to call them but, they will always look at it as an obligation to support and help you when needed.
6) Be grateful as always.
Being thankful is the most pleasant feelings to be felt from within yourself, with or without a specifically associated act, for gratitude can come from things that happen now or things that happened in the past.
In order to recognize all of your great achievements in your life. Writing a page each day with few encouraging words that you can feel grateful for,
so then this sort of activity may help you to feel satisfied through bringing positive things in your life.
You can write down everything about being grateful, remember all the things that you need to appreciate and things that you owed a lot of obligations.
Learning about gratitude should not be a substitute for anything including solving all problems. But you need to prioritize and focus on problems that needs attention.
Problems will sometimes help you find your way in doing your best, then it can make you to realize that with it there is still something that we have to be thankful for.
7) Love your family unconditionally.
After few years of relationship, there are a lot of things will come as something we called changes in a relationship.
There will be things you will discover from your spouse which are not favorable to you, and many things that looks discouraging to see, and sometimes there are things you wish your child could do but couldn’t make.
Try to learn to accept things because not everyone is the same, every person is unique of his own, and you should not expect that what you can do, they can do as well.
Accept them for who they are, it is not difficult to correct things specially it’s your family, so whatever you like to happen be open to them or teach your ways,
if you want them to do things that you like to ask them to do in a nice way, or help doing it then everything will be okay.
8) Think yourself as uniquely blessed.
People that you encountered in your daily life are of different path or a different sort of life than you are. Don’t be jealous with their accomplishment however, take a guide from them on how to be the same.
Comparing yourself to them will only make you discourage for sometimes but always remember that we have our own life which is so much different from theirs.
We have different struggles of life, ours might be harder or easier it will all depend on the situations.
Comparing ourselves to others will not make us happy, because we can always see something better from them, while they themselves have also found something better in us and that is how life is.
We should never compare ourselves to others, because we and them are not writing the same examination.
Always aim to be better than the person you were yesterday, because we ourselves are our true competition.
9) Think positively and share your courage with others.
What you allow is what will continue. It’s always better to spend more time alone than allow negative people and their opinions to derail you from your destiny.
Don’t easily get jealous, try to remember that everyone has positive and negative experiences, but what you will see are all only the good aspects of them and of their lives,
but deep inside you don’t know that sometimes they experience much harder life than you.
Always see to it that in every person’s one single positive dream is more important than a thousand negative realities.
So let’s all have the kind of mind which is not like the parachute, that will only function when it’s open.
10) Be active on all charitable works.
I always remember my favorite verse of the bible in Proverbs 11:25 Be generous and you will be prosperous. Help others and you will be helped.
If you want something that can lift your spirit up, it’s just easy by only helping others and not expecting any returns.
It can be a little hard to see the point of everything you’re doing. Offer yourself for those who are in need, and the more you help others the more you realize what life is all about.
And all these things will lead you to a very satisfied being, more contentment in life and more energy to survive in whatever trials and challenges that you are facing in your life.
Every time you see those who are in need, by serving them and by helping them, it will make you feel the better and you will be proud that you are having the rule of helping and not by being helped.
11) Think of it that not only material things can bring joy to our life.
Accustom yourself in making things that you like without using money. There are a lot of things that can make us happy without involving financial matter.
Something to enjoy that doesn’t need to be bought are: House cleaning with your family, playing with them, loving and caring them, etc.,
To see your family happy are already a great joy of our life and that is also some things non-material ones but is making you happy from inside up to outside.
When your family is complete, and happy, healthy, and strong, there is no money that can buy the happiness that it can produce.
12) Don’t buy the things you don’t really need just because they are cheap.
Don’t buy the things you don’t really need just because they are cheap. To struggle financially is one of the causes of unhappiness in life.
There are things in our life when it is so difficult to ever be in a position where money isn’t a problem at all, you can lessen the stress by only enjoying things that you see all around.
Instead of buying what you don’t want, think your every buying decision for not just a day but more days,
and the longer you decide buying the lesser the price you will get as things are getting cheaper day by day.
Don’t be jealous with others who are updated in all latest gadgets, avoid on reading catalogs or to the clearance sale magazines because in there you will find a lot of temptations of buying.
Be satisfied with what you have by enjoying its function, there is no so much big difference with the latest gadgets with that of yours as a rather older version.
Just always think that you can do most functions the same as the latest one, because the most common function that we normally used are only browsing, watching videos, calling and messaging.
Enjoy on what you already have instead in focusing on all the things you don’t have, If you dream of something which you are not capable of having it will only cause you to feel not good.
There are countless things that we need if we think we want them, but if you try to focus on what you already have then your mind will learn to be contented with whatever you have.
To crave more stuff while you already have it, is not a good sign, there is maybe something wrong with us if that is the case.
